As we are kicking off the beginning of our career series, I think we need to acknowledge the fact that a lot of us are facing a new reality when it comes to our careers.  And with that, we might have either seen a side of our company, boss, or just what we do for a living that makes us consider a career change or realized how blessed we are and want to stay and bloom where we are planted.  Either way, the lessons and recommended actions shared by our guest are great for helping us listen to God and trust in his guidance with everything.

Today we are joined by Dayna Bickham, author, speaker, and founder of The Constant Creative.

Do you wish parenting was more peaceful?  What if it can be? To end out our series about helping you be the mom you want to be, let’s revisit our conversation with Jessica Kastner.

She is going to give you all the best tips along the way. Jessica is an award-winning journalist, community leader, and a full-time working mom. She’s really entertaining and has so much wisdom, so I know you are going to get so much out of what she has to share.

Life balance starts first with the Word of God! Today’s Scripture is from both Jeremiah 3:15 and Matthew 9:37.

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jer 3:15

“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;” Matt 9:37

My hope in this interview is that you will learn and have a greater understanding of who you are and what Christ has called us to do in our lives as working parents. Jessica’s wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of the struggles of parenting more than qualifies her to speak into peaceful parenting. She’s been just about every kind of mom you can be since she started out as a single mom, lived the stay-at-home life, and is now working full time. Out of these experiences of challenge, struggle, love, laughter, Jessica wrote her book, Hiding From My Kids In My Prayer Closet. Jessica says her book was written so that other moms could laugh and share in their struggles together. So often in Christian circles, there seems to be an unwritten expectation of perfection. Jessica is reminding you today that it is just a lie you tell yourself. Jesus is perfect for us, and all he asks is faith!

Are you ready to bring some peace back to your parenting? Jessica’s tips might be just what you need!

What to do when your kids just want to hang out in their rooms or on their electronic devices instead of you?  Well, that is what we are talking about today...bonding with your older kids.  In this episode, I am going to walk you through some steps to help you find ways to not only spend time and make memories but to actually enrich your relationships with your kids as they go through pre-teen and teen years.  In addition, there is a mindset shift away from being upset your babies are getting older to newfound freedom for yourself and for them.  I am by no means a parenting expert but I am sharing tips that I have applied through the advice of parenting experts and letting you know what actually worked for me.
