A big part of Christian life is worship. While there are many different ways that we worship our Lord, music can create such an emotional way of connecting with God. When we go through different seasons, that can be even more important to lean on God through worship. This can grow your faith in a big way and in this episode, we are joined by award-winning recording artist, Ginny Owens to dive into this topic. Ginny shares her story of how God has shown up in her life through music and how God helped bring her through a season of burnout in her career.
Ginny has a new album and an accompanying book called Singing In The Dark. If you want to grow in how you worship, this is for you!
When we talk about balance, regardless of how you define it, you need to have three things.
1. God first in your life
2. Community and
3. Systems that help you live in a balanced way.
This week we are focusing on number two, community. There are many components to building community, but what we are focusing on this week is all about bringing in more joy to your life (because that is what this whole 7 week series is all about) by loving on others.
When we focus on others and love on them, it's easy to forget about the little things that are weighing us down. Plus, as you live in your purpose of building up others and loving on them, you are becoming more like Christ and that kind of alignment with the Spirit naturally produces more joy. Trust me. Give it a try and get ready to see some serious shifts in your life.
Watch your kids and think about how they are just fully living life. They don’t care if they have gunk on their faces or if the house isn’t perfect, they just find joy. They dance like no one is watching, and sometimes dress that way too. If the clothes feel good, they want to wear them. Or if it’s what they like.
Do you remember doing the same thing when you were little? What things did you do that brought you joy? Today, we are revisiting those childhood joys and giving ourselves permission to reconnect with it. Now, you might not walk around with a milk mustache and your lunch all over your face without a care in the world, but hopefully, you will find even just one thing to reintroduce to your life to spark Joy.
When you hear “let it go” I am sure that it brings up ideas, thoughts, and beliefs that you already have set for yourself about letting stuff go. Why? Because we are always told to just let it go! Stress, grudges, worry….all of it. But it’s easier said than done.
Now, this summer series is all about bringing more Joy in your life and we can’t really get Joy if we are holding onto things that distract us from the joy God has for us in this life. So today we are going to talk a little about why it’s important to let it go, but more importantly, three steps to actually let it go.
Let's get ready to pump it up! Need a refresh and want to welcome in more joy into your life? Join us for working mom summer camp!
