Whether it’s a new job, new baby, or a new city, life can get a little crazy. I believe we can gain all of God’s blessing from the adventures that life has in store for us. When you are in the thick of messy situations, balance might seem beyond your reach. I am proof that you can find that beautiful blessing of balance even in the busiest of seasons. That is why I wanted to take the opportunity to share my story and the story of the Your Life Rocks Podcast.

If you’ve spent any time with me in person or on this podcast, you will know that I fully believe in the power of personal development. Many people in Christian circles have a few hesitations when it comes to personal development. Shouldn’t the Bible be sufficient for us? Are you worried about false teaching? These questions are valid, and in today’s episode, you are going to hear my loving response to these reservations. Instead, I think we need to focus our attention on a different question.

How are your New Years Resolutions going? Here on the Your Life Rocks Podcast, we tend to focus more on intentions than resolutions because we want to live fully in God’s will. Intentions allow room for God to grow and challenge us. That being said, let’s check in with some of our health goals so far. Health is about far more than a certain diet or avoiding specific foods. We know that good health is found in a holistic lifestyle. After all, God doesn’t care about what size we are or the number we see on the scale. He cares more about our intention and care we are placing in our health.

When thinking about the health of your family, do you ever struggle with the dreaded “Mom Guilt?” Sometimes, preparing healthy meals can be a real struggle. That is why I love Prep Dish so much! Prep Dish is a meal service crafting beautiful, healthy dishes that are Gluten Free and Paleo! With me today is Chef Allison Schaaf, the founder of Prep Dish. She embodies the kind of commitment to an overall healthy lifestyle built on whole, nutritious foods.

Since the intention of this podcast is to help you build balance into your everyday life, I wanted to take a moment to think about the purpose behind one of my favorite systems. Weekly Prep is one of my favorite things to discuss on the show. It’s a habit that has allowed me so much freedom and breathing room throughout the week, and I know it will change your life too. Beyond just giving you the practical steps for weekly prep, I also wanted to challenge your perspective on it.

Let’s check in with our purpose today. I don’t complete my Weekly Prep to make my life easier, although it does most of the time! In fact, it’s not about me at all. As I plan my week, I use the system as an opportunity to remind my husband and my children that I am serving and caring for them. Think about it as a way to speak into the lives of the people you love. It’s a way to say, “I’ve got your back!”
